KOI OTHER POND FILTRATION

As with most animals, Koi and other fish excrete urine and produce solid waste. In a natural environment their waste products are removed by the large quantity of water within which the fish live. In a pond it is the role of the filtration system to perform this natural procedure.

As Koi keepers will already know, maintaining a healthy pond environment is no simple task, here at Premier Koi we supply many different types of filter systems to help with this problem, but we personally recommend the filter systems from Evolution Aqua.

The Answer

'The Answer' took 2 years of research and development to produce, and was launched in 2001. "The Answer" gives excellent water clarity and quality along with protecting the system from unwanted solids. "The Answer" is a low maintenance, mechanical, self-back washing fine-screen filter. "The Answer" reduces many of the problems associated with Koi care, for example it:

  • Reduces periodic filter-media cleaning significantly. "The Answer" stops the build up of mechanical debris under the filter media.

  • Mechanically and visually cleans water. "The Answer" produces very healthy water to the overall system, which in turn produces healthier Koi.

  • Eliminates the suspended solids in the pond. "The Answer" prevents the waste majority of solids getting through into the biological stages of your filter.

  • Ends Hikui. The red pigment cancer which, although it does not affect the health of the Koi, it can reduce their value significantly.

Nexus

The "Nexus" filtration system is an effective, high performance system that cleverly combines mechanical and biological filters to give great water quality and clarity to ponds.

The "Nexus" is up and running here at Premier Koi, come along and witness for yourself how this fabulous system works. The clarity of our ponds are now second to none.

Kaldness

Buoyant and wheel shaped, "KALDNESS" creates the most effective environment for the nitrification process to take place, and is also self cleaning, preventing loss of bacteria within a filter due to maintenance.
